It is interesting how when something life changing happens in your life you remember almost everything about that moment. I remember waking up to my mom watching to news and the live coverage on the 2 towers. She was crying, and I did not really understand why. We then got in to the car to go to school, the radio was on, and she was still crying. It was in this moment that I remembered thinking that something was seriously wrong. During school we hardly learned anything, we were constantly watching the news. The teachers did not seem to be in the mood to teach. As the events unfolded and we learned more and more about what had exactly happened.
how precious this country is and the special freedoms that we enjoy here. I am grateful to live in America. I love it.
This weekend we had another crazy road race. We participated in the Red Rock Relay. This race is 183 miles, and runs you right through amazing southern Utah. Our team went into in just to have some fun, but it turned into a real competition when we learned that we were in 2 place! talk about pressure! We ended up taking third overall of about 230, and our average pace was around 7 minutes a mile! The team was great, and we made some fun memories. We slept for about an hour at Jordan Frei's house during the middle of the night, then had to find the energy to run our last legs. Mine was only 5 miles, but it killed me! I had no energy left in me, but I pushed through. The rest of the team did the same, and I was so impressed by everyone. I was not only impressed by our team, but by everyone's. It was so inspirational!
