so far behind

I can't believe how far behind I have gotten on blogging!

Some ladies from my ward talked me into signing up for a trail race in September. It is a tough course and I was feeling up for the challenge so heck, why not? Just having something to train for has made a huge difference. Some days it is still hard to wake up early, but I never regret it! Plus, I have the best running buddies!

This last weekend Dessa and I left really early to hike the the saddle of the San Fran Peaks.  I have only once ever made it to the Summit and that was good enough for me. There is something really amazing about hiking above the tree line....! The silence was just what I needed that specific morning. There are a lot of changes coming to our little family soon, and this hike helped me to sort things out.

I have also been making an effort to take Wren hiking more even if Layne is at work. It is the perfect activity to get her out of the house and moving.

We have also been having tons of playdates with our little friends.  We love going to the park, taking trips to sedona, playing in our backyard, swimming at bear paw *Thanks abby,  and going to our friends houses.  A couple weeks ago we did a sunday BBQ at the Ho's and the kids loved playing in the kitty pool. Thankfully Flag has had some really nice days this summer.  I feel like monsoon season has been a little less dramatic than last year!

Earlier this week I was making Peanut Butter chocolate chip cookies. I let Wren taste a little bit of the dough and she seemed just fine (we had suspected a peanut allergy), but within ten minutes she had hives all over her neck, back, and tummy! I sent a picture of the rash to some friends and they quickly told me to take her to the doctor! I am a clueless mom...haha Thankfully they got us in right away and sure enough.... A peanut allergy! We are having allergy testing done in September to confirm, but we now have an epi-pen just in case. Poor girl, PB is the bomb....

In july some friends from our stake invited us to go camping, and a few other people from our ward ended u coming too! We let Wren come up for the dinner and games part, and then we swung her home to sleep in her warm crib. My mom was so kind to watch her for us numerous times when she was visiting. It was our first night away from her, and it honestly felt really nice!
That next morning was the fourth of July. We kept it really low-key. We made it in time for the parade and met up with the Hallows. Don't know what we would do without them! Little Wren and Charlie have so much fun together!
